₊ ⊹ Last weekend, my solo exhibition ‘Troubled Waters’ was opened with a magical live-set performance by the talented @yon_eta ₊✧ Much love to everyone who attended the opening of my show at @expobart in Nijmegen! ♡ ̆̈ ‿︵♬ ﾟ.‿︵‿︵ The exhibition will be on display until March 3rd. ‿❀° Beyond excited that my solo exhibition 'Troubled Waters' is now open and will be celebrated this Saturday 03.02 from 16:00 till 19:00h with a live set by @yon_eta at @expobart (Nijmegen). Valentina's exhibition aims to raise awareness of the positive impact and responsibility associated with modern technology. In a time where discerning reality is challenging, the installation, including lilies and images from the digital realm, questions our connection to the natural world versus virtual reality. The soundscape, created by composer Maarten Brijker, and spoken texts inspired by dialogues with artificial intelligence highlight the limitations of these techniques in creativity and empathy. I’ve been blessed to be in Tuscany, Italy for the past three months doing an artist residency at @castellodigargonza & Le Capanne .. a joy and a gift to say the least ✧*･ﾟ* This project was part of the Gargonza Arts Award ‘22, which I earned for my work in ‘media arts’*･ﾟ✲ I’m grateful for all the special people I met during the residency who showed me their traditional history, events and nature. Every sunrise and sunset, a new sky painting unfolds to remind us that the present is the gift that keeps on living🌄 — My new video installation ‘Fioritura’ is still in process and will be presented in October at @museum_morsbroich (DE) — big 💗 to @lima_media_art for nominating me for this award

The results of this illusion can help in the recovery process, however it can lead to relapse. Through the use of various elements of daily life that can relate to this phenomenon, the exhibition presents both effects of this condition, having as a starting point the current situation of the Białowieża Forest located on the border between Poland and Belarus it is used as a refuge for migrants. Then, the exhibition continues with the understanding of new technologies that have been present in our life for a long time, and thus creating a collage of means through which different elements can be understood in new ways following visions which do not resemble reality. Pink Cloud is not just a term used in certain groups, but it is a tool with which we can explain the duality of important topics in today's society. — photo’s by Calin Man & Florin Hornoiu

Via platforms such as Twitch or Reddit, she researches online subcultures, such as the furry fandom, cosplayers or Vtubers. The internet offers a relatively safe space for them to express themselves, and at the same time provides a low threshold for others to express criticism, typically called 'flaming'. The avatar is a central element in this balancing act of online freedom and critique. A live filter allows streamers to modify their appearance in such a way that they are at the same time anonymous and have a unique hybrid digital personality. Valentina's solo-show can be read as such an Avatar – a filter overlaying our physical space that shines light on the online world of streamers, while at the same time revealing its shadow sides.’
